john adam road race

CONGRATULATIONS JOHN!!!!

Motorsports Ranch, Cresson, Texas.... Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA).The July Motorcycle event was a scorcher both in temperatures (105) and on the track. John Adam #746 riding his Yamaha R6 600 scorched the track and pictured above puts a pass on Brant Dillon #717 of Houston, TX on his Suzuki GSXR 750 in the B Superbike class Sunday. John went on to place an excellent 2nd place in only his second roadrace weekend. The B Superbike class is for up to 750cc modified motorcycles. John also finished in 6th place in the B Superstock class our to 39 entrants starting from the 21st grid position and a well fought 6th place in the C Superstock class with 37 riders on the grid and starting in the 21st grid position.

JOHN ADAM GOES ROADRACING

John, after many years as a successful pro motocross racer decided he wanted to road race motorcycles. After a few track days and going to school to obtain his license he finally got to race at Hallett Raceway near Tulsa Oklahoma in a CMRA (Central Motorcycle Racing Association) event he raced three classes and because he is a new racer with no points had to start in the rear of the grid on the second wave start. In the picture below, he is at the extreme left and back of the photo (#746). He finished 15th out of 39 riders in one class, 10th out of 32 in his second class and and very impressive 8th place in his final race of the day.

John raced a stock 2009 Yamaha R6 with required safety modifications and a Yoshimura exhaust system on Bridgestone DOT tires.

Congratulations John!

Mr Harrison brought his 2009 Yamaha Venture in for service and I just had to post a picture of this beautiful motorcycle and share it with everyone. He recently added a trike kit and it looks like factory equipment as you can see. If you are interested in converting your motorcycle into a trike, contact us. Thanks Mr Harrison for sharing your Yamaha with us.

Cycle & Marine Supercenter’s John & Jeff go to the track.

IMG_30063

John Adam (pictured above) and Jeff Adam (pictured below) went to Heartland Race Track in Topeka Kansas for a road race course track day. The day started dry but after only one session it started raining. Even though both riders hold a pro license (Jeff, Drag Racing & John, Motocross) they had never been on a road course before. Both John and Jeff got better as the day went on and even as most riders packed it in they stayed on the track. John said the R6 was an excellent choice was sure it was the best 600 available. Check out the full line of Yamaha and Suzuki sport bikes at Cycle & Marine Supercenter for a great deal.

Rossi Wins Moto GP at Indy

rossi at motogp2

The first ever Moto GP at Indianapolis was held September 14th 2008. Vallentino Rossi (pictured above) showed why he is a multi time World Champion aboard his Yamaha when storm conditions with up to 60 mph winds blew into the stadium Rossi motored to the front and outpaced the field. Rossi won on his Yamaha with USA former world champ Nicky Haden finishing his best of the year in second on his Honda and Jorge Lorenzo third on his Yamaha. Ben Spies (below) on the factory Suzuki in only his 3rd Moto GP race took a very impressive 6th place on the very wet track.

The following is from Yamaha:

Rossi, Lorenzo 1- 3 in Blustery Indy MotoGP

Fiat Yamaha teammates Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo finished a tremendous first and third

in the inaugural MotoGP race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in appallingly difficult storm

conditions on Sunday, Sept. 14. The win gives Rossi an incredible 87-point advantage in the

standings – over three races worth – with just four events left to go, while Lorenzo’s second

consecutive podium finish reinforces his return to the top echelon of MotoGP while also securing

fourth place for him in the standings. Tech 3 Yamaha's Colin Edwards finished 15th and James

Toseland finished 18th.

While Hurricane Ike was downgraded to tropical-storm status before it reached Indy, it still hit with

a fury for Sunday afternoon’s race. Rossi had earned the pole on Saturday but was conservative

in the event's opening lap, quickly slotting into fourth behind early leader Andrea Dovisioso, Casey

Stoner and Nicky Hayden. But after feeling out the track conditions – including areas of standing

water – Rossi began to move forward until finally taking over the lead from Hayden with 15 laps

remaining. From then on the YZR-M1 rider held a comfortable advantage until the event was redflagged

after 20 of 28 scheduled laps due to gale-force winds that scattered debris across the

racing line, caused power outages in track buildings, and blew the riders dramatically from side to

side.

Besides winning the pole and the race, Rossi also set the fastest lap and now stands alone in

history with 69 premier-class Grand Prix victories. “This is fantastic because it’s been a long time

since I won in the rain and even longer since I won four in a row!” he said happily. “To win the first

race here at Indianapolis is a great emotion and to beat Agostini’s record is also incredible – now I

hope my record will stand for 30 years like his! Sincerely I don’t think I’ve ever ridden in conditions

like these and I was lucky because I was far in front and therefore didn’t have to take any big

risks.”

SUZUKI WINS AT VIR

KMG_26404

SUZUKI mounted Ben Spies won both Superbike races at Virginia International Raceway in the AMA Superbike Championship round after the AMA decided they didn’t like the “looks” of the on track winner Mat Mladin’s crankshaft on his Suzuki GSX-R.
